Premiere: TRAKA pull 'The Trigger' with MYTHM on YUKU

PremieresWritten by Umut Avialan on

Rendah and YUKU regulars TRAKA team up with Canada's finest MYTHM for a sub-bass behemoth titled 'The Trigger'. Released today on Czech-based label YUKU, this collaboration is the first of many in the pipeline!

TRAKA is a fresh production and graffiti collective from Serbia, Montenegro and the US. Their trilogy of releases 'Start Taking Note', 'Maktub' and 'Monstas' on renowned multi-genre label YUKU has brought them to the ears of many. Fueled by heavily distorted frequencies and top-notch collaborations with Killa P, Riko Dan, Subp Yao, Warrior Queen and many more, these tunes have only shown a fraction of what the collective is capable of. Additionally, the collective has released music on labels such as SUDO Sound, Black Teeth and Satellite Era.

MYTHM aka Mike Miele is one of Canada's most exciting bass music exports of recent years. In a short period, Miele managed to swarm the US scene with his tunes full of eerie atmosphere and massive gut-wrenching bass. With a distinct style, he's made some waves across labels such as Artikal, Deadbeats and Deep Dark & Dangerous.

YUKU is a Prague-based music label with fantastic curation. Not easily pigeonholed to a specific sound, they've made it their mission to give each artist and release enough time to breathe. Throughout the pandemic, YUKU has been fostering their dedicated fanbase via Discord, a physical and digital subscription, and down-to-earth approachability. So far, A.Fruit, Current Value, Granul, Le Motel, Henry Greenleaf and many more have trusted the imprint with their sonics.

'The Trigger' showcases what both TRAKA and MYTHM are known best for; massive sub bass, heavily distorted frequencies and unshakable groove. Check the premiere out below!

Mission Statement

This project is crafted to be open and collaborative. Through this, we seek to explore core themes within a structured framework:

  • Symbiosis: Can artists and communities have better relations?
  • Meaning: What matters in pursuing and preserving artistic influences?
  • Intersectivity: Are there chartable commonalities within art and technology?

By asking questions, we hope to observe something new; and with that, offer our own perspective.
