Yamatai Records closes 2024 with a milestone: the return of one of its most promising rising stars, Rue. The highly anticipated Parallel Introspection LP represents the artist’s most daring and conceptually rich work. Rue has consistently demonstrated his mastery of production, and this release solidifies his place as a creative force.
Prior to his official debut, Rue unleashed four exceptional solo releases over the past couple of years, serving as a compelling prelude to his artistic journey and paving the way for the next chapter. The three-track debut EP Attraction Complex earlier this year captured the scene's attention, earning a top-five position in the Drum and Bass charts.
Setting the stage for his trajectory of promise, the mini album Parallel Introspection sees Rue stretching his creative boundaries, weaving a deeply personal narrative of self-reflection through intricate melodic soundscapes and a dynamic spectrum of emotions. Rue brings diverse perspectives to elevate the album with collaborations with Acris, Dub Ten, M2K, and Pseuro.
Topping it off with a visual dimension designed by Rue’s brother, the exceptionally talented Gaijin Graphics. The striking artwork complements the album’s introspective nature, creating a cohesive and immersive artistic statement. A high note for Rue and Yamatai Records - setting the tone for an even more exciting future.
Today we premiere a favorite off the LP To Be Better featuring M2K. Kicking off with lush, melodic tones that seamlessly transition into flawlessly crafted growling bass riffs, striking a perfect balance with its shimmering melodic synths. All tied together by an entrancing vocal sample that hums effortlessly over a crisp and brilliant beat with sharp hi-hat percussions. A mesmerizing blend of grit and elegance set at 140bpm parallel to the mood of introspection.
