Premiere: R3IDY and Peas' come on Yamatai Records
PremieresWritten by Colin Benson on
“Hosuto”, derived from the Japanese word for “host”, is a refreshing new series in the Yamatai Records camp, honoring the artistry of both emerging talents and seasoned MCs who have been an integral part of the Drum and Bass scene, infusing every event and festival with an unmatched vitality and atmosphere - elevating the experiences, creating indelible memories for ravers and listeners alike. An essential mission to highlight the dynamic lyrical prowess of the likes of Freddy B, Jken, MC FLOW, MC Fokus, and Peas with a diverse array of meticulously crafted tracks by core producers Acris, Dubruvvas, Leks, Pine, and R3IDY.
On the come up as always Jakob aka R3IDY returns to Yamatai following his “Deepest Truths EP” a couple of months back. Since then he’s made his way onto Transparent Audio with a collab on Arkala Dre’s latest “Through To You EP” and most recently with a straight-up rude EP titled “Sessions” on Trust Audio which earned features on Overview’s podcast and the almighty VISION Radio.
In this case, one can say there are two peas in this pod of a collab, Peas is on the up with features on labels such as Rebel Music, Midas Touch Recordings, and Love For Low Frequencies to name a few. The rising MC comes correctly with uplifting rhymes and a formidable attitude.
Might want to buckle up as the ‘Rollcage’ might not protect you from the premiere today as Peas lays down cold menacing lyrics over the chunky bassline roller R3IDY delivers.
