Premiere: Malcuth & Facutum & TRAKA's latest number

PremieresWritten by Brian Grimmlin on

Pioneering a new trajectory all their own, Malcuth and Facutum deliver unyielding textures of sound in the form of Grave Robbers From Outer Space. Pulling from the vast dimensions surrounding sci-fi and fusing it with their own singular brand of production; this otherworldly collection of tracks jettisons between the strange and familiar with extreme precision, creating electrifying feedback loops that break any notions of sound.

With comprehensive experience in synthesizing a hybrid range of styles - from searing numbers released on Sinful Maze to the halftime warblings showcased through their work on the label VALE - it’s abundantly clear they have melded pieces of the past with future ambition, and are eager to unleash it upon the world. This dedication to pushing the limits of sound while simultaneously bending the nature of composition itself has kept them consistently in Rendah’s nebulous orbit. Between deep dives into cinematic landscapes and fascinating approaches to visual artistry, this organic meeting of the minds sheds light on a hidden corner of the left field underground that is growing in momentum. This is heavily evidenced by the limited run of cassettes of the release, accompanied by a bonus track.

We are thrilled to premiere “Run It” - a fierce link-up with none other than TRAKA. Corkscrew basslines, bubbling energy, and hallucinatory sample choppage collide for an infectious encounter that pierces the fabric of the universe, brandishing a deadly fusion of the tech driven edge the duo champions with the signature energy of TRAKA.

Mission Statement

This project is crafted to be open and collaborative. Through this, we seek to explore core themes within a structured framework:

  • Symbiosis: Can artists and communities have better relations?
  • Meaning: What matters in pursuing and preserving artistic influences?
  • Intersectivity: Are there chartable commonalities within art and technology?

By asking questions, we hope to observe something new; and with that, offer our own perspective.
