lxsh explores Electronic Jazz-Fusion 'Floral' on The Rust

An acid journey conceived in a smoke filled basement bar in downtown Louisiana - 1922. Fast forward a century and that sensational trip has converged through 'lxsh's sonic projection entitled 'Floral' - an astonishing lo-fi jazz masterpiece, woven into a mesmerising dreamscape. Today we take a closer look at the mastery behind the mind and music.

lxsh (pronounced ‘lush’) presents ‘Photosynthesis’ to introduce us to his first foray into Jazz Music. The drums really take the stage here with pocket after pocket of tasty chopped fills and swung out shuffles. This is a wild exhibition of snare-drum-buzz-roll proficiency and illustrates the incredible attention to detail in lxsh’s programming skills.

lxsh gets behind the keys on ‘Spring’ - a more heartfelt piece originally written as a mothers day gift in 2020. Two years later, after developing this beautiful piece further later, it strikes a significant chord as this gift becomes eternalised through the digital archives. A truly blessed sentiment.

Things really start heating up with ‘Warmth’ as lxsh pushes Jazz into overdrive. A summer-time feel good anthem brimming at the seams with all that funky goodness, augmented by powerful reese bass modulation.

‘Rain’ dials things back signaling a graceful conclusion to the floral life-cycle. Gently doused by a tapestry of rich foley and intricate glitches, the subdued vocals paint a moving picture of the last day of summer when things begin again.

It’s been a true pleasure to explore this piece not only for my friend ‘lxsh’ but as a full-circle gesture for the homies over at The Rust who have supported my ventures through their literary craftsmanship.

Show these fellas some love and support the release here.
