Premiere: A look at I7HVN's latest six-tracker on Yuku
Introducing a new chapter from Bangalore's sonic merchant, I7HVN, also known as Ishan.
Following the release of his debut album 'Youthful' on Qilla Records last year, the rising artist returns with his all-new 'Innate Needs EP' on none other than Prague-based imprint, Yuku, set to release on the 8th of August.
“The Compilation delves more into the concept of wants, the forces that shape a being's needs, and far more. The album marks an investigation of darker musical experiences with undercurrents of burdened grief and reminiscence.”/ Yuku
The six-tracker contrasts a darker musical landscape; with broken beats that balance between listening and dancing, this EP seemingly pays homage to the grunge and gore of human nature indeed, through the extended means of distorted wavetables and 303-style basses. That's quite a combination.
Today, we premiere a personal favourite from the EP, "Body Count". This track—in my view—perfectly captures the essence of 'Innate Needs', as it further explores an artistic & abstract take on otherwise dance-oriented components.
'Innate Needs' is set for release on the 8th of August. Overall, we're excited to see this release taking place, and I can't think of a better home for it than Yuku.
