The dynamic duo Fearful & Mtwn return to their YUKU sanctuary with 'Beyond the Veil'. To be released on October 23rd, the album continues the journey out of their comfort zone.

Fearful aka Chris Murray is a content creator and music producer with over 15 years of experience. Besides his musical endeavours, he's running a Patreon where he shares his 'tried and tested music and sound design techniques. He's providing tools and feedback and forming a dedicated community along the way. Among other labels, Fearful has released his mostly dark bass music on labels such as Diffrent Music and Flexout Audio.

Mtwn is a Belgian music production outfit consisting of Max and Dimitri Mathieu. Being self-proclaimed raw beat scientists, the duo has released on Samurai Music, Dispatch Recordings and Diffrent Music. With a more experimental edge on their tunes, they were destined for more diverse production. No wonder they've teamed up with Fearful in the process.

YUKU is a Prague-based music label with fantastic curation. Not easily pigeonholed to a specific sound, they've made it their mission to give each artist and release enough time to breathe. Throughout the pandemic, YUKU has been fostering their dedicated fanbase via Discord, a physical and digital subscription, and down-to-earth approachability. So far, A.Fruit, Current Value, Granul, Le Motel, Henry Greenleaf and many more have trusted the imprint with their sonics.

With both music projects initially making Drum & Bass, 'Beyond the Veil' is the third venture into uncharted territory. It all started with a joint release on Diffrent Music called 'Collisions'.

Today's premiere 'Mutual Destruction' is as dark and gritty as it can get. It makes one wonder what lies beyond the veil.

Mission Statement

This project is crafted to be open and collaborative. Through this, we seek to explore core themes within a structured framework:

  • Symbiosis: Can artists and communities have better relations?
  • Meaning: What matters in pursuing and preserving artistic influences?
  • Intersectivity: Are there chartable commonalities within art and technology?

By asking questions, we hope to observe something new; and with that, offer our own perspective.
