Premiere: Cuepric celebrates stunning return to In The Lab

PremieresWritten by Umut Avialan on

German Drum & Bass newcomer Cuepric teams up with Melanie Ring for a stunning return to In The Lab Recordings. Dropping on March 15th, the track is a shining testament to the aspiring producer's talent.

Leipzig-based Cuepric is one of Neo Drum & Bass' most exciting prospects. With his melodic yet neuro-ish sound, he's seemingly popping up everywhere. 'Aphel' follows a slew of excellent releases on In The Lab. Additionally, he made a Patreon-exclusive remix of IMANU and KUČKA's 'It's Our Destiny' and flipped barking continues' 'Free' with long-time collaborator NOVALU. In between, he released a collaboration with VRUM titled 'Dusk' on the Leipzig label Boundless Beatz. To top that off, he snatched a bonus spot on Tom Finster's 'Year Of I Remixes' album with a rowdy re-imagination of 'Sinner' on DIVIDID. My favourite of the OG album of 2022, by the way.

In The Lab Recordings are by far no strangers to Rendah Mag. To make it short and sweet, ITL is a Northampton-based indie record label with a strong focus on technical and experimental Drum & Bass. Their forward-thinking mindset has led to two successive nominations as Best Newcomer Label at the UK's Drum & Bass awards. Among others, artists such as [BORDERS], Vici, Ewan Bristow, Ankou or Scurrow have graced the catalogue of the fresh label.

'Aphel' isn't Cuepric's first interaction with Melanie Ring. In 2021 MODESHA, a synth-pop band, released a Cuepric remix of their song 'Cold Eyes'. Ring is the band's lead singer, so this is a full-circle moment for both. We're extremely happy to host their first official collaboration. Check the premiere below!

Mission Statement

This project is crafted to be open and collaborative. Through this, we seek to explore core themes within a structured framework:

  • Symbiosis: Can artists and communities have better relations?
  • Meaning: What matters in pursuing and preserving artistic influences?
  • Intersectivity: Are there chartable commonalities within art and technology?

By asking questions, we hope to observe something new; and with that, offer our own perspective.
