Premiere: Chiyu Debuts On Sinful Maze with 'Vyior EP'

PremieresWritten by Colin Benson & Frank Pomes on

Czechia-based label Sinful Maze has been absolutely crushing it for a few years now.  With their leading-edge sound paired with their exuberant artwork, they devise a deadly aesthetic combo. We recently caught up with their head-honcho Mark Sin and he provided us with some insight into what’s to come. We are very thrilled to be working with them.

Establishing themselves ever since their inception in 2019 with a succession of one unique release after another, they’ve been generating an ever-so-evolving community of artists who share the vision of highly detailed graphic art and sound. A few of us at Rendah are completely mesmerized by the talent of music producers coming through the label. Matched only by the incredible art and visual storytelling of MK Art, they continue to show their prominence and demonstrate that they are not a label to be overlooked whatsoever.

Showcasing their next release, Sinful Maze exposes a gem of an artist Chiyu. Settled in Osaka, Japan, Chiyu reveals her perplexing and deranged nature with a monstrous 4-track release at the prodigiously young age of 18. Mark Sin was gracious enough to reach out and get a few insights from Chiyu for us. She's been producing Drum and Bass for just a year now, she started experimenting in music-making mashups in 2018. and only started producing properly in 2019 mainly making Dubstep. 2020 marked the formal start of her Drum and Bass production. Growing up she listened to a lot of EDM, especially Virtual Riot. Aside from Drum & Bass she is also inspired by many other genres such as Future Bass, Dubstep, Techno, and Kpop as well. Just this year she graduated high school and is now studying graphic design at college. Due to her busy schedule with college, she plans on taking a break from music for quite some time… That being said her inevitable return to music will be fondly anticipated as we’re enthralled by the latest EP 'Vyior'.

The vivid palette of the 4 tunes exhibits her imaginative and heavy potency. As expressed by the label, “Shapeshifter” sets the mood and theme for the whole project. “Riot Fields” indescribable (WTaF?) while “Chasm” would even make Maestro Mefjus and the Highest Emperor proud. “Asphalt” the final tune represents a kind but honest goodbye to this almost a year-lasting project and cooperation between us as a label and Chiyu as the new yet undiscovered artist on the other side of the Planet Earth during such turbulent times. Imprint of this story.

Today, we're ecstatic to premiere her track 'Chasm’' an in-house favourite from the release at Rendah HQ.
