Auditory landscapes from video-games: some personal greats

I woke up this morning with an overwhelming urge to revisit some old video-game scores (more than usual, that is). In my daily routine, I'll usually listen to at least one game soundtrack.

Game music occupies a unique space by definition. It's often too abstract to be categorized as robust electronic music, too concise to be labelled as experimental, and too engaging to be considered 'ambient.'

For moments in my day, video-game scores hit the Goldilocks zone; they provide a musical shield against real-world distractions.

The blend of nostalgia and euphoric sonics offer a blissful way to spend a few hours, in my opinion. Today, I'd like to highlight a few soundtracks that I've been enjoying, and I hope you will too.
