Arp XP is one of the pioneers of the Italian underground scene. He’s had releases out on Metalheadz and SUNANDBASS amongst others and covers the full bass spectrum between 120 and 175 bpm.
OBL/QUE is a project born in his hometown Cagliari, Italy, created to spread, produce and promote Drum & Bass, dubstep and bass music in its various forms. After three years of successful event production in Sardinia, OBL/QUE are making their next move.
While waiting to be busy again organizing Bass Music parties around the island, the Sardinian crew joined forces with Samsara Beats extending OBL/QUE into a sister label of Samsara. The focus is on releasing Bass Music of different BPMs with a special eye for the very prolific local scene.
OBL/QUE’s debut release is a compilation with tracks from the best Sardinian producers of the moment. Including both well-established names in the D&B community such as ArpXP or Ntropy and new projects like the mysterious UnoTurbo, Vlad or Thom Oab.
If you’re familiar with the Samsara Beats catalogue you might know HNGVR and Mudra as well. The name Hold/Reset describes the rebirth of the crew in this particular historical moment showing that the Sardinian electronic scene is stronger than ever.
Samsara Beats is a fresh, young and independent record label based in San Francisco focussing on Leftfield bass, Jungle and Drum & Bass. They’ve managed to pull out fantastic music by artists from all over the world including Dub Beans, Luke Sentric and Samurai Breaks.
The album features a broad range of colourful branches of Bass Music. Arp XP’s ‘Auburn' matches the OBL/QUE ethos perfectly with tribal drums, lots of space, power and rhythm.
